Cardiac Cath Lab

We provide a wide array of cardiovascular procedures to diagnose and treat heart disease at our state-of-the-art Cardiac Catheterization Lab at West Medical Center.

Finding and fixing your heart problem

Our team of cardiovascular experts perform diagnostic procedures to assess coronary artery blockages. They also perform innovative procedures to help restore the pathways to the heart by opening clogged arteries, improving blood flow to the heart muscle and decreasing the damage from a heart attack.

Our diagnostic services include:

Cardiac catheterization: used to diagnose whether a blockage exists and to what extent the disease has advanced.

Electrophysiology studies: performed to analyze the electrical activity of the heart to determine the cause of abnormal heart rhythms.

Our treatments include:

Balloon angioplasty: a technique that uses small balloons threaded through the coronary arteries to open a blockage or narrowing of a coronary artery.

Stents: expandable, stainless steel metal coils implanted in the narrowed portion of the coronary artery to keep the artery open.

If your doctor has ordered a cardiac catheterization for you, learn more about the procedure and how to prepare for it.
