Meet Our Staff
Sharon Minjares, MBA, MS, RD, LD - Sharon is a Registered, Licensed Dietitian. As the director of the Wellness Institute, she combines her passion for food, health and helping individuals in the field of nutrition and wellness. She received her Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Lake Erie College, MS in Nutrition from Case Western Reserve University and BS in Food and Nutrition from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Illinois. Sharon serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the American Heart Association-Greater Cleveland Division. Her goal is to make health and wellness a way of life for the community at large.
Georgina Bihari, AAS in Architectural Drafting, Certified Wetland Delineator by the US Army Corps of Engineers - Georgina is a Certified Yoga, Pilates, Zumba and Barre Instructor, and the owner of Strength and Grace Workout Studio. Georgina is a graduate of Electronic Technology Institute, where she received an associate degree (Cum Laude) in Architectural/Mechanical/Process Piping drafting. Her Yoga and Pilates certification is from FITOUR. She's a registered Zumba ZIN member and has special interest in Barre Stretch/Tone/Strength training, health, well-being through Yoga/Pilates practice and Latin dances.
Karen Clifford, MEd, RD, LD – Karen is currently the Wellness Coordinator at the Wellness Institute. She is a Registered, Licensed Dietitian with a BS in Dietetics from Ohio University and a Master’s Degree in Exercise Science from Cleveland State University. She completed her dietetic internship at Central Michigan University. She has worked in a variety of settings including hospitals, corporate wellness, and outpatient clinics providing nutrition, exercise and wellness education. Her interests include health and wellness, cardiac nutrition, vegetarian diets, exercise and weight management.
Carolyn Garvey RD, LD, CDE - Carolyn is a Registered Dietitian, Certified Diabetes Educator, and Certified Group Fitness Instructor. She has a BS in Nutrition from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and has special interests that include Type 1 Diabetes and group exercise.
Vaia Lappas-Gilchrist, M.Ed., DTR, CHWC, CWWS - Vaia is a Certified Wellness Coach and Exercise Physiologist. She has a MS in Exercise Science and Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition Health and Fitness from Cleveland State University. She is also a Registered Dietetic Technician, a Certified Worksite Wellness Specialist, Certified Personal Trainer, and Group Exercise Instructor. She has been in the wellness field for over 20 years and has worked in various settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, fitness centers, corporate wellness, and spas, providing wellness education to a varied population.
Lynn Kally - Lynn graduated in Health and Physical Ed from Edinboro University and has been teaching group fitness classes since 1986. She is Group Exercise Certified through AFAA and the YMCA of the USA and is currently certified in Pilates, Zumba, Kickboxing, Cycle, Resistance Training and CPR. She enjoys working with all people, especially those new to exercise, recovering from injury or facing physical challenges.
Susan Kim DC, DABCA, CCN, CSCS – Dr. Kim is board certified in Acupuncture in Ohio. She graduated from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana and received her doctorate in Chiropractic at Southern California University of Health Sciences. She received certifications in Advanced Biomedical Acupuncture specializing in Pain Management, Advanced Sports Injuries and Trauma Rehabilitation. In 2012, she completed an internship in Hangzhou, China with advanced acupuncture training in orthopedics and gynecology and received her Diplomate in Acupuncture in 2014. She is also a Certified Clinical Nutritionist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. She has been in private practice since 1999. Other special interests include acupuncture with IVF, failed back surgeries, fibromyalgia and stress. She has been treating patients with Acupuncture at the Wellness Institute since 2010.
Susan E. Mandel, PhD, MT-BC - Dr. Susan Mandel is a board-certified music therapist, specializing in stress and pain management in medical settings. She works as a music therapy consultant to Lake Health, where she manages the music therapy program and developed music therapy research studies in the emergency department, cardiac rehabilitation, diabetes education and integrative medicine. Susan has also established two local music therapy hospice programs. Her doctoral studies focused on mind-body studies and music therapy research. Susan is on the faculty of the School of Advanced Studies of University of Phoenix, where she teaches research and mentors doctoral students through the dissertation writing process. Dr. Susan Mandel and Dr. Suzanne Hanser co-authored the book and accompanying CD, "Manage Your Stress and Pain Through Music," published by Berklee Press. Susan and Daniel Kobialka recorded the CD, "Harmony of Mind and Body: A MARI Experience."
Al Morgan, LMT - Al is licensed by the Ohio Medical Board since 2007. Has certifications in Trigger Point Release, Kinesio Tapping, Sports Massage, Deep Tissue and Reiki II. At the Wellness Institute, Al performs deep tissue, Swedish, relaxation, sports, kinesio taping and chair massage.
Danielle E. Musat, MT-BC - Danielle is a board certified music therapist who provides music therapy through the Lake Health Integrative Medicine program to the Geriatric Psychiatric unit and inpatient units at West Medical Center; as well as the emergency department at TriPoint Medical Center. Danielle also provides music therapy services to children and adults with developmental and/or physical disabilities at Willoughby Fine Arts Association.
Sandie Onorato RN, BSN - Sandie received her Bachelor’s Degree in nursing from Cleveland State University and has worked as a registered nurse at Lake Health for the past 15 years. She coordinates various community screenings and enjoys educating patients and clients about the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. She has also worked as a wellness coach.
Ann Marie Raddell, MT-BC, NICU MT - Ann is a board certified music therapist, specializing in music therapy in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She earned a bachelor's of music degree in music therapy at the University of Dayton and completed her music therapy internship at an inpatient psychiatric hospital in Dayton, Ohio. Ann Marie currently provides inpatient music therapy services at Lake Health, as well as music therapy services to children and adults with varying needs at Willoughby Fine Arts Association.
Michelle Sito, MS, ATC, EP - Michelle is a graduate of the University of Florida where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Sciences with a concentration in Athletic Training. She earned a Master’s Degree in Physical Education with a concentration in Sports Administration from Mississippi State University. She is a Certified Athletic Trainer through NATABOC and an ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist. She also completed level 1 training through YogaFit.
Judith Stricker, LMT - Judith Stricker is a medical board licensed massage therapist. She received her training at Lakeland Community College and is certified in Active Release Therapy, AIS (Active Isolated Stretching) technique. In addition to relaxation, Swedish, and deep tissue massage; she specializes in medical massage, prenatal massage, and special needs massage servicing patients and clients with multiple sclerosis, multiple dystrophy, cerebral palsy, and stroke patients. She also specializes in sports massage, and works for the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Cavilers. Judith performs outpatient massage therapy in the Wellness Institute.
Alyssa Tyler, MS, RD, LD - Alyssa is a registered and licensed dietitian. She earned her MS in Nutrition and Dietetics from Kent State University and her BA in Spanish from John Carroll University. Alyssa completed a dietetic internship through Priority Nutrition Care based in Boston, MA. Her experience is in medical nutrition therapy and has worked with individuals of all ages in various settings including schools, nursing homes, hospitals, businesses and fitness centers. Alyssa specializes in general health and wellness, weight management and sports nutrition.
Group Fitness Class Instructors
Denise Brown, ERYT 200, Reiki Master, Tai Chi Instructor - is a registered Yoga and Tai Chi instructor with many years of experience, as well as personal practice. Denise truly believes everybody can benefit from Yoga and Tai Chi regardless of body type or experience level. Denise studied with Alice Christensen and “The American Light of Yoga Society” where her teaching roots were developed. She then pursued her formal teacher training with Joseph le Page, founder and director of Integrative Yoga Therapy (IYT) in 1999. With a passion of finding ways to help her community, Denise trained with Suman Barkhas becoming a certified instructor in Tai Chi Movement for Better Balance, continuing training in “Tai Chi for Health” with Dr. Paul lam master trainers.She is a certified reflexologist trained by the International Institute of Reflexology and a member of the American Reflexology Association. Denise strives to create an atmosphere of compassion and tranquility in order to create a positive class experience where she believes everyone can find a personal balance, harmony and physical well-being.
Anne Owens BSN, MA, ERYT 200, Reiki Master, Tai Chi Instructor - Anne Owens is a registered yoga teacher, Tai Chi instructor and Reiki Master. She is a graduate of Ursuline College where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in nursing, and Case Western Reserve University where she completed her masters in medical illustration. Her yoga certification is from TRY4LIFE and she studied Reiki with Jan Hauestein and Sister Ann Winters. Her Tai Chi instruction is through Dr. Paul Lam’s Tai Chi for Health. She is certified in Tai Chi for Arthritis and Tai Chi for Diabetes.
Danielle Lynn Pape, CPT- Danielle is certified in Personal Training, Group Exercise, Cardio Kickboxing, Yoga, and Pilates. She has been teaching for 12 years and training for 11 years. Danielle owns a personal training business and her passion is helping people reach their health and fitness goals.
Colleen Stone - Colleen has a passion for yoga and wellness. She has been a registered yoga teacher since 2008, and has been practicing yoga for almost 20 years. She came to yoga originally to try something new and quickly realized that it was different from any other kind of exercise in which she had previously participated. Yoga is an ancient system of exercise that incorporates breath practices, physical movements and meditation to leave the participant in a healthier state both mentally and physically. Colleen’s classes are open to participants of all fitness levels who wish to reduce stress and anxiety, to help relieve stiffness in the body, to improve physical fitness and to achieve a happier outlook.
