Congratulations to Joy Ianiro, CNP, chosen as the 2019 Advanced Practice Provider of the Year! Despite her recent retirement, Joy was honored as Lake Health’s first recipient of this award. Joy was a member of the Lake Health medical staff from 1993 until 2019.
“Advanced practice provider” is the modern term which describes a whole category of medical providers including physician assistants and advanced practice nurses, such as certified nurse practitioners, certified nurse midwives and clinical nurse specialists. Lake Health’s 222 advanced practice providers are essential to the operation of the hospital system throughout the continuum of care.
“Joy was doing this long before most nurses and doctors even knew what an advanced practice provider was,” says Lake Health’s chief medical officer John Baniewicz, MD.
