Pablo Ruda Vega, MD, is a cardiac surgeon with University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. Dr. Ruda Vega earned his medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires, then completed two residencies, in general surgery and cardiovascular surgery, at the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires in Argentina. Dr. Ruda Vega then came to the United States to complete a residency and fellowship in adult cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic. After his training, Dr. Ruda Vega returned to Argentina where he worked as a staff surgeon, eventually earning the role of chairman of cardiac surgery for the San Jose and San Cayetano clinics in Buenos Aires. He was then recruited to University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute in 2021. In addition to his large surgical practice, Dr. Ruda Vega excels as an educator, serving as lecturer, instructor or lead administrator for multiple professional conferences. He has also authored more than 100 peer-reviewed publications, abstracts and book chapters on various topics related to cardiac surgery advances and techniques.
