A promising milestone

On Wednesday, January 20, Lake Health began vaccinating people age 65 or older in Lake County. This is a significant milestone in helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community and save lives.
99-year-old Virginia Sierputowski became the first patient to receive the COVID-19 vaccine at Lake Health. She will be turning 100 in March and showered everyone in the room with thanks and love. Virginia is just one of the many seniors being vaccinated in the coming days at Lake Health.

John and Irene Kovach, who have been married for 65 years, also received their COVID-19 vaccine that morning. These Painesville residents were excited about getting vaccinated together and are looking forward to reuniting with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Continuing to vaccinate Group 1B
Lake Health is pleased to be partnering with the Lake County General Health District, Lake County Emergency Management Agency and others to offer COVID-19 vaccinations to those age 65 and older who are part of the Phase 1B group. COVID-19 vaccines are offered by appointment only. While appointments are currently limited, availability will increase significantly in the coming weeks as we receive more doses.
To be placed on a scheduling notification list for the Phase 1B group, visit the Lake County General Health District’s scheduling website.
Once you are on this notification scheduling list, you will be contacted by automated text, email and/or voicemail with instructions on how to schedule your vaccine appointment. Receiving this notification does not guarantee you a vaccination appointment as the supply of vaccine is still very limited.
