Cancer Screenings
Screening tests check your body for cancer before you might notice symptoms. They help to find cancer early, when it’s most treatable. Common cancer screenings include:
- Cervical cancer screening (Pap tests)
- Colorectal cancer screenings (such as colonoscopy and stool tests)
- Lung cancer screening using low-dose CT scans
- Breast cancer screenings (such as mammograms)
- Prostate cancer screening
- Visual skin exams to look for skin cancer symptoms
When should I get screened for certain cancers?
Talk with your doctor about when and how often you should be screened for cancers. While there are general screening recommendations based on age, your doctor might recommend a different screening schedule or tests based on your health history, your family health history of cancer or previous screening results.
