Support During Cancer

Our team is dedicated to helping patients and families navigate cancer care. We’re here to support you:

  • Licensed social workers address the concerns of patients and families (including group and individual counseling sessions).
  • Dietitians help patients with nutritional needs.
  • Therapeutic massage therapists provide our patients with a series of massages to reduce stress and improve your sense of well-being at no cost. Ask about these sessions at the front desk.
  • Our finance team provides financial counseling to help you understand your insurance, charges and payments. Please contact our Financial Counselors at 440-205-5703.
  • Our palliative care team offers supportive services for symptom management, acts as a resource for trusted information and answers, supports your mental and social health, helps with advanced care planning and helps coordinate your care with the rest of your health care team.

Local Support Groups

We work closely with the American Cancer Society to provide support groups and helpful programs for patients with cancer and their families, including:

Look Good, Feel Better
The Look Good, Feel Better program helps individuals navigate cancer-related appearance changes. Whether you’re dealing with hair loss or skin changes, this program offers non-medical support.

Prostate Cancer Support Group

Breast Cancer Support Group
Our Breast Cancer Support Group is designed for women affected by breast cancer and their partner to receive support and education on the many topics surrounding this disease. This support group meets the fourth Wednesday of every month (excluding November and December) from 6:30 pm to 8 pm at Lake Health/University Hospitals Seidman Cancer Center (LHUHSCC).
