Diagnostic Rhythm Management
Lake Health uses monitoring devices for diagnostic heart rhythm management, including the LINQ Cardiac Monitor.
The LINQ is a small injectable device that operates without wires or patches outside your body. Electrodes within the monitor continuously and wirelessly record your heart’s electrical activity and detect problems using the same method as a standard electrocardiogram. The device can help your doctor diagnose a variety of heart-related problems.
The system also provides remote monitoring through the Carelink® Network, which alerts your doctor if you have a cardiac event. The Reveal LINQ system also includes the new MyCareLink™ Patient Monitor, a simplified remote monitoring system with global cellular technology that transmits your cardiac device’s diagnostic data to your doctor from nearly any location in the world.
The monitor is also useful for monitoring patients who have undergone ablation to treat atrial fibrillation (A-Fib). The LINQ monitor can improve post-operative monitoring by detecting silent episodes of A-Fib that do not produce symptoms. This more accurate tracking of heart rhythm can allow some patients to stop taking blood thinners.
