Lake Health’s respiratory care team includes pulmonologists, nurses and respiratory therapists who work together to treat, manage and care for patients with lung disease. Pulmonary Rehabilitation
Many people suffer from shortness of breath because of severe or chronic lung disorders, including asthma, emphysema and bronchitis. If you’re forced to limit your daily activities to avoid breathing discomfort, outpatient pulmonary rehabilitation may be right for you. Diagnosing Respiratory Conditions
If you have trouble breathing, your doctor may recommend you see a pulmonologist for help diagnosing and treating a possible respiratory condition. Oftentimes, the doctor will use a combination of respiratory diagnostic tests to help diagnose lung conditions, including:
- Pulmonary Function Test (PFT)
- Six-Minute Walk Test
- Chest x-ray
- CT scan
- Endobronchial ultrasound bronchoscopy
