A: Stop into LiveHealthy and talk to a Safe Start Coach or call LiveHealthy at 440-375-8777. You may also ask your health care provider about Safe Start. Participants need their health care provider to complete a simple referral form prior to starting the program. To be eligible, you cannot have been a member of LiveHealthy in the past 12 months.
Q: How much does Safe Start cost?
A: Safe Start is 60 days for just $60.
Q: Do I need to sign a LiveHealthy membership agreement?
A: No. After completing the 60 days in Safe Start, participants will be able to roll over into an annual LiveHealthy fitness center membership if they wish. There is no obligation.
Q: Can I refer a friend?
A: Absolutely! Workouts are always better with friends. Let us know who you want to refer and we’ll have our Safe Start Coaches reach out to their health care provider after talking to your friend.
Q: What if I’m already a member of LiveHealthy?
A: If you’re already a member of LiveHealthy, simply stop by the Fitness Desk on the first floor of our facility and talk to an Exercise Specialist. They will be able to complete a fitness consultation and provide a customized exercise prescription to fit your specific goals. Current members do not need a physician referral and there is no charge for you to take advantage of these additional resources.
Q: What happens in Safe Start?
A: Referred patients will participate in the program at LiveHealthy fitness center. You’ll start by completing a fitness consultation and participating in either structured exercise programs in a group setting or exercising independently outside of the group if preferred. Healthy lifestyle changes can be difficult, and training in a group setting can build a great community for support. You’ll have full access to LiveHealthy’s equipment, amenities and programs during all hours of operation throughout your 60-days.
Q: What are the benefits of Safe Start?
A: Exercise improves your health and wellness in many ways! Here are six benefits of exercise that go beyond losing weight.Â
Q: What should I wear to my appointments?
A: Â Wear loose, comfortable exercise clothes and workout shoes. We also recommend bringing a towel and water bottle.
Q: Will my health insurance cover this?
A: Not at this time. The cost of Safe Start may be eligible for reimbursement through certain HSAs and FSAs. If you need to provide specific paperwork for reimbursement, please ask our Safe Start Coaches for assistance.
Q: Is Safe Start Physical Therapy?
A: No, Safe Start is not meant to replace medical rehabilitation programs like physical therapy or cardiac rehab. Upon completion of a medical rehab program, patients can begin Safe Start in order to continue building healthy behaviors/habits.
Q: How will my health care provider know about my progress?
A: Your physician or health care provider will receive intermittent updates about your progress through the Safe Start program. Our Safe Start Coaches will deliver the updates. If there are additional providers that you’d like to know about your progress, please let a Coach know.
Q: How often am I eligible for Safe Start?
A: Once every 24 months. The exceptions are individuals that are planning on having surgery or giving birth. These individuals are eligible for Safe Start prior to and again after their event. These participants need to be cleared for exercise from a physician. Often, those who go into surgery strong have much better outcomes, and we highly encourage you to take advantage of this program.
