Lower Arterial Exam
A lower arterial exam reveals important information about the blood flow in your legs and helps your doctor find the cause of problems such as pain when walking or wounds that won’t heal.
During this non-invasive test, you’ll lie on a bed so that you’re relaxed and comfortable. Blood pressure cuffs will be applied to your legs to obtain blood pressure readings. A small ultrasound probe will be placed at multiple sites on your legs to “map” the blood flow inside your arteries. A vascular physician will analyze the results and share them with your doctor, who will explain the results to you.
